One of the most popular requests that our designers receive at Granite Countertop Warehouse is for information on granite showers. Many of our customers from all over Metro Atlanta want to know more about installing granite in their shower. From Buckhead to Roswell to Peachtree City…granite showers are growing in popularity. It’s not only granite; people are requesting other natural stones like travertine and marble.

Commonly people install stone and ceramic tiles in their showers but lately customers are asking about whole slab installations. Jairo Martinez, general manager at Granite Countertop Warehouse (GCW) attributes this trend to popular design shows on television. “At first our designers were somewhat perplexed with the sudden popularity of whole slab showers but after watching some of the design makeovers on cable television, we understood the source. These shows have been featuring luxurious whole slab showers in their design makeovers. These shows have been showing showers using high production featuring fantastic colors. Along with a great story-line, the showers look very appealing.”

Some people prefer the whole slab look because of its luxurious appeal,while others prefer the durability and moisture resistance it provides. Natural stone is very strong and very easy to clean. Maintenance and upkeep is a breeze! Our sealers add additional moisture resistance. To protect your investment, every piece of stone we fabricate is equipped with a 10-year stain protecting sealer. Application of the sealer is completed in our fabrication shop prior to installation, so all you have to do is enjoy it! The sealer is absorbed by the stone and designed to fill its pores. This allows for future spills to pool on top on the stone instead of being absorbed. This is the first defense in stain protection, and it doesn’t have to be re-sealed for 10 years! We also now offer a lifetime sealer!
